To test a website's web presence l think you need to check
at least 10 keyphrase's, and to do it thoroughly maybe 50-100
depending on how many services or products you have. Once
we know which keyphrase's are not showing up in the search
results, then we can take action to improve that through either
SEO or PPC or maybe even both.
Also do not include your company name in the keyphrase search
because most new customers may never have heard of your company
before, and the test needs to be accurate so that you can
assess your situation.
l can also offer a keyphrase evaluation report for your website.
F ive years ago or so before PPC became popular ... when a
user made a search on Google a webpage was returned usually
with Ten SEO results and maybe two or three PPC in the right
column of the page. Now it is not unusual for Google to return
10 SEO results 10-12 PPC and 3-10 local search on the first
page!!! So now the competition to do business on the web has
increased dramatically, and it will continue to do so.
So it is very very important to run a tight ship from all
angles. You need good SEO or PPC or a combination of both,
and also a local listing. This will
increase your web presence and improve your
probability of attracting people to your website.
You also need to be aware of your online competitors around
you and what they offer so that you can be competitive and
convince people to do business with you. Just attracting people
to your website is no guarantee that they will purchase anything
or use your services, you need to
offer something better than your competitor.
